What is ArgoNavis?ArgoNavis is fulldome adventure-puzzle game made for the bachelor's degree project, created by one person. Made in Unreal Engine 4 and suitable for fisheye projectors, ArgoNavis provides new quality in area of computer games and fulldome projections.
It's still in early stages of development. ArgoNavis is fully educational, university project created at the University of Silesia, Institute of Art. StoryFuture.
Humanity does not know any alien civilisation, but it spread beyond the frontiers of the solar system, developing interstellar economy of raw materials. In ArgoNavis, you take the role of mercenary astronauts, engaged in dirty work of rich businessmen - destroying sattelites of market competition, stealing from asteroid mines, spying. One day, during routine, long flight, astronavigation fails. Asleep crew members wake up none too soon and evacuate to be crashed on strange, uncharted planet moments later. There, scattered, scared and without supplies, our crew have to survive, find each other and return home. What is more, the Planet, deserted and dead on first sight, seem to react on captain's actions. Strange ghosts and sounds start to appear before the leader... Artworks

TechnologyModels, texturing and animations were made in Autodesk products: 3dsMax, Mudbox and MotionBuilder. Humanoid models based on MakeHuman model creation. Whole project assembled in Unreal Engine 4. Used versions: 4.6, 4.7.5 and 4.7.6 Fisheye camera rig based on Paul Bourke's Fisheye for Unity Engine. Project tested on Digistar 3 by Evans & Sutherland placed in Jan Długosz University Planetarium, Częstochowa. Future of the projectArgoNavis was assessed 5 as bachelor's thesis on University of Silesia. Project will be further developed - now, planned features are: - developing the plot - adding second planet and space level - making the multiplayer with mobile devices - recording dialogues and much more. ArgoNavis is made by only one person, so adding new content takes a lot of time. |
